I’ve been having a ton of fun making mini mixed media paintings lately. These are a few inches tall on paper or mini canvases, made with watercolor, acrylic, ink, pencils, and whatever else I have on hand. The format restriction makes me create in a different way, having to choose what’s important and to leave behind the rest, as well as rethinking composition when the scale is so much smaller than I’m used to. Restriction inspires creativity!
